Under supervision and direction of the Agency Apps Supervisor and Team Lead, this position will be responsible for optimization, documentation, maintenance, and performance of the State's agency application environments and applications. These applications vary from COTS apps to in-house written and vary between pure technical applications to end user based applications.
Location: 501 S. 14th Street Lincoln, NE
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.
Job duties
Candidates will provide technical support at a senior level for our application environments. Candidates will work closely with customers to determine the best course of action for their project(s) and applications.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in computer science AND three years of related technical and business experience. Two years of related technician and business experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. OR Post high school coursework in computer science AND four years of related technical and business experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT related field. Experience in server administration and management. Excellent communication and organization skills. Experience developing and creating implementation plans. Advanced troubleshooting skills. Experience with Microsoft PowerShell.
Other: Regular and reliable attendance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of information technology theory, principles, and practices
Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software
General knowledge of local and wide area network systems
Knowledge of client/server network protocols and Internet/Intranet applications
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
Knowledge of cloud infrastructures
General knowledge of servers. Includes various web server platforms.
Skill in delivering responsive, quality customer service
Ability to write clear and concise documentation of systems and procedures
Ability to accurately estimate time and cost requirements in project development and implementation
Ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals
Ability to plan, organize, and meet schedules and timelines for assigned work
