We are currently looking for a Fixation Laboratory Technician to join our team in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Fixation Laboratory Technician is responsible for the safe execution of component-level testing at the Fixation Laboratory facility.

The position is mainly focused on executing testing procedures following customer specifications and other internal procedures. This includes operating servo-hydraulic actuators, high-voltage testers, and dimensional metrology testing equipment. The position is also required to keep structured and organized records of all laboratory testing activities following the requirements of the Laboratory Procedures (LP) documents.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Safe execution of fixation product testing procedures

  • Prepare samples for testing.
  • Follow costumer and/or internal testing procedures for the evaluation of diverse track components.
  • Operate servo-hydraulic testing, high-voltage, and dimensional metrology equipment.
  • Keeping organized and clear records of all laboratory activities.
  • Organized and clear record keeping is vital for the correct function of the laboratory.
  • Identifying anomalous results based on expected product performance is critical to minimize re-testing.
  • Variable scheduling may be required based on business requirements, with a total of 40 hours a week minimum.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 20-25 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Hearing abilities related to job assigned.

Job Requirements (e.g. education, experience, skills and desired competencies)

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Experience and certifications in welding and fabrication preferred.
  • Experience and certifications in hydraulic equipment preferred.
  • Ability in planning ahead activities and execute without supervision.
  • Ability to work in teams with different skill assets and serve the objectives of the fixation group.
  • Proactive in solving issues and taking independent action.
  • Strive to commit with project deadlines and submit deliverables to internal clients.
  • Position requires creative thinking to solve day to day problems and an openness to operate under a constantly varying set of testing procedures.
