Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Market Research is an important member of the Sales Operations team will lead the US and Global Market research for both inline and pipeline assets. The role will also be responsible for integrating insights across the Arcutis portfolio of products.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Engage with key stakeholders to develop and execute market research to shape the strategies and tactics critical to successfully meet business objectives
  2. Manage qualitative and quantitative market research studies, potentially among both healthcare providers as well as consumers including project objective identification, design, vendor selection and oversight, monitoring of data collection, data analysis and interpretation
  3. Develop relevant and compelling presentation of market research insights for key stakeholders, including brand leadership and senior management
  4. Keep abreast of key market events and work to understand potential impact
  5. Work with commercial stakeholders to understand sales and market trends and, as appropriate to recommend corrective courses of action or additional market research to clarify underlying causes
  6. Complete analyses to identify and quantify business opportunities
  7. Lead projects and deliver quality assessments, collaborating with commercial team members
  8. Demonstrate strong project management, prioritization and timeline execution across projects when working independently as well as when working with the vendors or internal teams. Ensure all Market research projects are developed with detailed rationale, assumptions and storyboarding.
  9. Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, MS PowerPoint & Excel skills.
  10. Support pre-launch, post-launch primary market research efforts at product and portfolio level and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
  11. Manage professional relationships with internal partners and external vendors.
  12. Build solid relationships and become a trusted advisor to the Commercial team, guiding brand strategies and tactics based on superior, objective customer insights.
  13. Effectively manage multiple external vendor/partner relationships to ensure high quality services, the utmost compliance with the company and industry policies, practices and regulations, and seamless integration with internal processes and teams.
  14. Integrate multiple data sources to assess market landscape and product performance across product portfolio. Present findings to key stakeholders and design research studies for a deeper dive, as needed
  15. Collaborate within the Commercial Operations team to convey to Commercial team and executive leadership holistic, actionable learnings.
  16. Other duties that may be assigned.

Education & Licenses and Experience

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 or more years of relevant market research, marketing, commercial operations, or other relevant experience.

MBA or Master’s degree is preferred. Previous experience in a consultative role is a plus.

Competencies & Skills

  • Significant experience conducting quantitative and qualitative primary market research is required; Additional experience with secondary market research is preferred
  • Expertise in a broad range of qualitative and quantitative market research techniques, including appropriate application of data collection and analytics approaches is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly and acquire in-depth knowledge and experience in a competitive market
  • Strong experience with PowerPoint & Excel
  • Strong strategic thinker who understands the critical role of market research in developing commercial strategy in support of in-line products
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous situations and determine focused objectives and a clear path forward in the face of open questions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, influence others, focus, resolve conflict and dive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities and skill sets
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing and changing priorities
  • Must have strong task management skills to include planning, prioritization, objective setting, and meeting management and plan execution
  • Strong data analytical and interpretive skills. The ability to meaningfully portray and effectively communicate complex quantitative data in an easy-to-understand format is required
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both oral and in writing both to peers and brand leadership are required
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with little supervision, and adapt well under pressure
  • Possess an expert understanding of research methodologies.
  • Excellent strategic thinking capabilities and equally excellent tactical execution skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with/present to (verbally and in writing) all levels of the organization, from Product Managers to Senior Executives
  • Expert knowledge of custom research methodologies

  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks to achieve established deadlines
  • Travel may be required up to 20% of time worked.
