The Value Leadership Project Manager has overall responsibility for facilitating the planning and execution of Value Leadership cost savings initiatives within the NA region in terms of development, launch execution, and post launch evaluation. The Value Leadership Project Manager will partner with regional Project Owners to facilitate and manage the scoping, planning and timing of any given project. The role is responsible for leading project teams to successfully plan and execute projects. This will allow for focus on execution, improved visibility to risks and issues, and will help to establish a culture of discipline and excellence in execution.

What are we looking for:


  • 3 years of business experience, including 1 year of Project Management experience or related work (preferably in CPG industry and/or marketing function)

  • Experience across multiple business functions desired

  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications


  • 5+ years of business experience, including 2+ year of Project Management experience or related work (preferably in supply chain or related area)

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or related field

  • Familiarity with Sopheon Accolade a plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project

What will be your key responsibilities?


  • Project Management: From Charter Development to Post-Launch Review. Develop all Gate documents to support the project life cycle using Mars' in-house QES process, facilitate the cross-functional team to define the Critical Success Factors (CSF's), conduct the Risk Assessment and determine the Feasibility Scores for all activities and develop project timelines. Post Development Brief, own managing the project through post launch. Understand the business process and use it to plan and deliver the project to the highest levels. Ensure compliance of activity process among cross-functional team members. Manage the activity until a level of stability is achieved with in-store activity. Coordinate with Business Planners and the Activity Champions to ensure Post-Launch Review is completed in a timely manner and learnings are incorporated into subsequent projects. Propose changes to the process and/or system for purposes of improvement. Hand over responsibility for the pack/brand to the Brand management team.

  • Building Effective Teams: Set up and chair project team meetings, resolve cross-functional issues, and manage the communication flow between all functions and levels within the organization. Keep team members motivated to achieve commitments. Update team members on progress of the activity and ensure inputs from all functions are on time and as required. Assist in the implementation of reduced lead-times. Identify critical decisions and ensure full sign-on to agreed solutions. Ensure that the project plan is developed and all members of the Project Team sign on to and deliver it. Present activity, status, progress, measurements and issues to local brand leader and Project Portfolio Manager or BMT Leader as required. Recommend when to proceed or to stop the project.

  • Project Governance: This role governs adherence of projects to the Mars' QES stage and gate process. This includes making clear and visible all deliverables required at each stage and ensuring that project plans in place at each gate passing will deliver the Critical Success Factors agreed for the project.
