Job Description
Manages and coordinates oligonucleotide production. Provides leadership and coordination to oversee, direct, and prioritize the daily activities of the oligonucleotide production laboratory and the assigned staff. Clearly communicates the vision, scope, and goals to assigned staff. Ensures initiatives for improvements in the oligonucleotide production laboratory are focused and aligned to increase effectiveness and performance of the overall product. Develops and implements strategies to improve productivity, reduce direct costs, and increase automation. Works with Process Development, R&D, and maintenance to plan and implement new product lines into the production process.
Responsibilities:

Maintain a laboratory staff by recruiting, selecting, and orientating, and training employees as necessary
Monitor and maintain staff performance results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
Evaluate and monitor staff performance and provide regular feedback with the addition of annual performance reviews
Plan for resources by managing schedules, overtime, and vacation time for all employees
Demonstrate a commitment towards the successful operation of the laboratory by maintaining lab-staffing schedule and providing adequate back-up support
Demonstrate interpersonal skills by effectively communicating, building rapport, and resolving conflict constructively with team members
Ensure important day to day activities are monitored and managed while clearly communicating the daily priorities and goals to all staff
Ensure all lab processes are carried out following the established in house methods and deviations are documented and communicated
Support purchasing department to assist in cost containment and consumable purchases
Support the Customer Service and Technical Support teams by providing information about manufacturing related questions and inquiries
Analyze the lab performance and process and be able to identify problems, propose solutions, and implement recommendations as well as manage the corrective actions
Ensure the adaption of the workflow with automation to reduce manual workload and increase efficiency
Manage the production implementation of tested and established R&D processes
Manage the introduction and implementation of QM documents and processes
Support the development and implementation of the new production LIMS program
Maintain the stability and reputation of Eurofins Genomics by complying with legal requirements and safety security measures
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related
Minimum 5 years of experience in oligo manufacturing and minimum 3 years of experience in a manager's role
Strong knowledge in oligonucleotide manufacturing including synthesis, liquid handling, purification and quality control
Strong background with high throughput manufacturing and working in a highly automated lab environment
Ability to interact effectively with co-workers and outside organizations
Ability to effectively supervise people with a variety of skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Ability to set priorities and manage multiple priority tasks, work independently, and prioritize
Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to rationally handle crisis and show good judgement under pressure
Ability to use all production laboratory and all techniques, which are state of the art
Demonstrate exceptional customer service, communication, leadership and decision-making skills
Experienced with working in an ISO or GMP regulated environment
Skilled in: Creating, planning, communicating and implementing goals, objectives, and practices for effective, efficient, and cost effective management of allocatedresources
Initial RCRA training
Annual RCRA awareness training
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) initial 24 hour training and annual 8 hour refresher training

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with overtime as needed
