Key Responsibilities:
Network Architect: Analyze local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites.
Configuration Expert: Configure communication media to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance.
Problem Solver: Resolve interoperability issues to achieve smooth operations across all platforms.
Innovative Developer: Develop network solutions for migrating or implementing network installations through lab simulations, MOP (Method of Procedure) preparation, specifications, and scripting.
Team Leader: Lead cross-functional teams or provide engineering support, ensuring successful project execution.
On-Site Specialist: Work on-site to turn up and focus on network migration from brownfield environments.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
Experience: 4+ years of experience in network systems analysis and support.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency with Cisco and Juniper equipment.
Design Skills: Experience with BGP, OSPF, and VRF design.
Remote Work: Conduct site due diligence work remotely.
Collaboration: Potentially collaborate with Planning and Engineering teams to install new equipment for migration.
Router Configuration: Turn up and configure new routers.
Site Expansion: Support the installation of new equipment at up to 55 sites, with more to come.
Lab Design: Design lab setups as needed to test and validate network solutions.
MOP Creation: Develop detailed MOPs for network changes and implementations.
Firewall Management: Prepare and submit firewall requests to ensure network security.
Maintenance Execution: Execute MOPs during maintenance windows, which may be outside standard working hours (8-5).
Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues that arise during or after migration.
Preferred Skills:
SQL Knowledge: Familiarity with SQL Server or equivalent databases.
Independent Problem Solver: Ability to work independently and solve complex problems.
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Large-Scale Environment: Experience operating in large-scale network environments.
Best Practices: Adherence to best practices and standards, with a flexible and open approach.
SDLC Methodologies: In-depth knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
Web Technologies: Proficiency in HTML 5, CSS 3, JQuery UI, ASP.net MVC, and website accessibility standards.
Programming Skills: Professional experience with the .NET framework (C#, ASP.NET, XML) or Java.
Performance Tuning: Experience in performance analysis and tuning of JVM-based services.
Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
Agile Development: Knowledge of TFS for managing an Agile development lifecycle.
Financial Industry Experience: Experience in the financial industry and a regulatory and compliance environment preferred.
Monitoring Frameworks: Familiarity with large-scale system monitoring and alerting frameworks.
Cloud Infrastructure: Expertise in utilizing cloud infrastructure such as Azure and AWS.
Resource Planning: Experience creating effective resource plans to ensure high performance.
Process Development: Experience developing repeatable processes and metrics to maximize uptime, reliability, and predictability.
Agile and DevOps: Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
