The Quality Assurance Technician will process samples obtained from the receiving and feed production floor, as well as prepare and process samples for NIR scan, and PDI testing. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) non-exempt position.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor. There are no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Prepare samples for processing via NIR, Dickie Johns, toxin tests, and shipping to various outside labs.
Process samples on NIR, Dickie Johns, and toxin tests.
Preform PDI testing on finish feed.
Toxin testing corn & wheat
Supply routine reporting on test results using Excel, Outlook and other software.
Testing for Stabilizers
Backup Feed Ordering Department
Assist in organizing training in FSMA, OSHA & safety.
Backup inventory control
Backup purchasing
Monitor diesel fuel levels
Daily feed ticket balancing
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office programs.
General business / accounting skills
Physical Abilities
Position involves light to medium walking, standing, stooping, carrying and lifting of light to medium-weight materials (under 50 pounds).
Requires visual acuity to read numbers, letters, and images; depth perception; hand and finger dexterity to use a keyboard at an advanced rate, and hand-eye coordination.
Requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to hear over phone and carry on routine conversations.
