Basic Job Functions:



The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of mechanical principles and practical experience as it relates to the mechanical maintenance function. The mechanic will provide mechanical support to the production crews, and maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, and weekends. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate commitment to safety in all aspects of jobs.




Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in industrial maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good understanding of overall maintenance process


• Fundamental knowledge of material handling systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, pumps,welding and dust control systems


• Troubleshooting and upgrades to hydraulics, pneumatics, and powertrain systems


• Ability to interpret mechanical schematics or prints for installation, repair, and maintaining equipment

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
