Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Kforce client based in North Dallas is seeking a Lead Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain database systems, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in database management, problem-solving skills, and a passion for optimizing database operations.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, or SQL Server

  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through regular backups and disaster recovery plans

  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas and data models

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner

  • Implement and maintain database security policies to protect sensitive information

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in database management







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • At least 12 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role

  • Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, or SQL Server

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with query optimization

  • Familiarity with database backup and recovery tools and techniques

  • Understanding of data security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud database services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Snowflake)

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB)

  • Knowledge of database automation and monitoring tools






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
