Warehouse Group Leader – 2nd Shift

Lemoore, California (Fresno Area)

At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role in Group Leader pay rate $35.21.

Summary Description: The Shipping Office Group Leader is responsible for the preparation, review and release of all shipping and receiving documents and records. This position is responsible for directing, administrating and controlling the day-to-day operations of the shipping clerical team by providing leadership and support and coordinating with the warehouse management team in regards to those clerical/shipping operations.

Product Integrity

  • At all times, operate in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures.
  • Oversees the scheduling of truck shipments through Lean Logistics and coordinate those appointments with product availability.
  • Review Product Allocation reports prior to product commitment to shipments to ensure all product is acceptable.
  • Coordinate between Warehouse Sample Team and QE team to ensure testing material is available when needed.
  • Maintain current and accurate record keeping for shipping/receiving documents.
  • Review shipping lists and place in shipment order for the warehouse shipping team.
  • Coordinate with shipping and clerical teams to ensure that all shipments adhere to the requirements requested by the customer specifically.
  • Direct interaction with Managers and cooperates in root cause investigations, brainstorming, and corrective action.
  • Assist management in ensuring that all shipments are processed in the allotted time.
  • Ensures a strong communication process between the warehouse management team and other interdepartmental teams with the facility.
  • Oversees product needs and manages available product for release.
  • Strong and thorough knowledge of Warehouse SOPs
  • Able to handle a high stress and fast paced environment.
  • Request product from Quality Execution and Corporate Product Management pending shipping needs for release accurately and in a timely manner via SAP.
  • Works Collaboratively with different departments to ensure that customer service and shipping goals are met, and service impacts are minimized.
  • Able to make calculated decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisory staff.
  • Adhere to all company and regulatory GMPs.
  • Comply with corporate rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Customer Service, Traffic and Product Management on any issues preventing timely shipment of material.

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

  • 3 to 5 years of equivalent work experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience in the Manufacturing, Quality in Food, of Quality in Dairy industries is preferred.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 1 year sit down and/or .5 years stand up forklift experience within the last 5 years.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities/Competencies:

  • Computer literacy. Knowledge of SAP, Blue Jay Logistics, MS Excel, MS Word Applications, MS Outlook email, and Typing Skills min. 40wpm.
  • Knowledgeable of food safety expectations, SOPs, Cyberdocs, and MFG specifications
  • Knowledge of sanitary GMPs.
  • Proficient in math, analytical reasoning skills, and delegation
  • Ability to carry out Risk Assessments, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control Principles
  • Ability to make decisions independently in a stressful environment involving large financial impacts.
  • Has excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver on deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple functions and tasks within the scope of accounting.
  • Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
  • Physical requirements to perform job as defined in the essential job function.

Working Relationships:

This position reports to the Warehouse Sr Supervisor.

Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in cooler/freezer (up to -10 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
  • Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all, applicable safety practices.
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift operator’s certification within 30 days.

Work Environment Description:

  • Works is in a fully functional warehouse setting that will involve movement (e.g., walking, standing, or otherwise being mobile throughout the warehouse) for regular periods of time. .
  • Must be able to gain certification and operate a forklift in a warehouse environment.
