Responsibilities:
Assist with the implementation of the EHS management system and provide EHS technical assistance to facilities to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Identify, design, and execute EHS-related projects to address safety and environmental challenges. Take charge of corrective actions for any EHS concerns that arise.
Maintain Health and Safety programs and training materials and coordinate/conduct training.
Compile data for submission related to environmental permits (air, water & hazardous waste), safety statistics and corporate EHS submissions.
Assist in maintaining North American Chemical Management System. Duties include developing, reviewing and releasing SDSs and Label Guides, and reviewing and updating substance toxicological data.
Assist marketing department to ensure product labels and technical data sheets are compliant with various regulations and review/approve all labels prior to release.
Keep abreast of changing laws and regulations that may impact the business.
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
Four (4) or more years in Environmental, Health and Safety regulatory compliance
Working knowledge of USDOT, IMDG, IATA and Canadian TDG
SAP or other integrated IT/EMS systems
Strong communication (oral and written) skills with the ability and comfort to communicate with upper and mid-management and interact with hourly work-force.
Undergraduate degree in an EHS related program.
Background/experience in working in chemical industry with knowledge/understanding of chemistry and chemical reactions.
Must be self-directed and independent but be able to effectively work with teams. Ability to learn new regulations and concepts and to apply them to the manufacturing operations
Maintain appropriate professional certifications, licenses and registrations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business enterprise systems (SAP preferred)
Willingness to travel domestically with potentially for international travel

Salary:
$80,000 - $85,000 annually
