Our Opportunity:



We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Electrical Technician, eager to integrate into our culture and be a key team contributor. This technician will work with a team of electrical engineers, and cross functionally with mechanical, software and embedded controls engineers, in supporting industry leading robotic atmospheric and vacuum system platforms. Learning experiences will include understanding the design, operation and usage of our products in the highly dynamic Semiconductor industry and providing customers with world class solutions to their challenges. This individual will work with a team in building prototype controls enclosures, PCBs and cables, developing test fixtures, testing new robot designs and control systems, testing design modifications, creating technical reports, and releasing new designs to our operations team. Ensuring proper documentation, consistent use of processes and systems, and engineering design standards are followed, enables Brooks to provide consistent high-quality solutions.


In a typical week, a faulty circuit board may need troubleshooting, an SMT PCB may need rework, some prototype cables may be built, a schematic/sketch for a test fixture may need to be turned into a working unit, components may need to be ordered, a robot may need to be setup and tested for new functionality, EMC testing may be performed on a new module, new assemblies may need design verification testing, and you may attend a 'Lunch & Learn' seminar. Every week will present new challenges.



What You Will Bring:



  • 10+ years of technician experience in an engineering development environment


  • Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, mechanical prints


  • Experience in building cable assemblies including use of crimpers


  • Experience executing test plans and generating test reports


  • Proficiency in the use of standard lab test equipment (scopes, meters, power supplies) and hand tools


  • Excellent surface mount soldering skills


  • Knowledge of IPC-7711 and IPC-7721 standards preferred.


  • Great organizational skills and knowledge of 5S


  • Standard Windows applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams)


  • Competency in Altium and AutoCAD is preferred


  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills utilizing logic and common sense


  • Ability to learn complex systems quickly


  • Excellent overall communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and work well within the team through professionalism and a positive demeanor


  • Occasional travel, < 5%
