Position Description:

The AV Operations Manager will oversee the efficient delivery of high-definition audiovisual (AV) solutions, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication for organizations of all sizes. This role is responsible for managing AV project execution from design to implementation, focusing on enhancing productivity and profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager will coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure timely project delivery and optimal use of AV resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • AV Project Management: Oversee the design, integration, and installation of audiovisual systems, including video walls, signage displays, audio distribution, and control systems. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work with key AV technology partners like Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Cisco, Polycom, and others to source and deploy high-quality solutions.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage AV technician schedules, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently across projects and tasks.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring that AV solutions are tailored to their specific business needs, including conference room layouts, mobile AV carts, and environmental control systems.
  • Operational Efficiency: Monitor project margins and job efficiency, track progress, and create detailed financial and project reports (WIP). Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational workflows.
  • Team Leadership: Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to Project Leads and Field Technicians to maintain high levels of performance and service quality.
  • Project Coordination: Conduct job start meetings and coordinate daily operations between Project Managers, Lead Technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Change Management: Manage requests for information (RFIs) and change orders as projects evolve, ensuring clear documentation and efficient handling.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all AV installations and operations comply with industry standards and safety regulations, staying updated on the latest AV technologies and best practices.
  • Service and Maintenance: Develop and oversee the maintenance and support plans for deployed AV systems, providing ongoing technical support and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in AV operations management, including hands-on experience with the installation and integration of audiovisual systems.
  • Deep knowledge of AV technologies, including video conferencing systems, audio distribution, digital signage, control systems, and automation.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing AV technicians and operational staff.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgets, forecasting, and metrics specific to AV projects.
  • Familiarity with AV design and engineering principles, including interpreting construction drawings and AV schematics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management tools like Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and internal teams at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in operations management, business, or a related field.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or AV-related certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist).
  • Experience working with a variety of AV vendors and platforms such as Crestron, Biamp, Polycom, and Cisco.
  • Knowledge of networked AV systems, IT integration, and unified communications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally travel to client sites for project oversight and system installations.
  • Work may involve standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods.
