Broadwind Heavy Fabrications is searching for an experienced Quality Assurance Ultrasonic Testing Technician II (UT) to join our team on A Shift in Abilene, TX. This role will ensure product meets Broadwind and customer requirements or specifications throughout the production process by inspecting the quality of welded joints in metallic materials. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (May include some or all of the following responsibilities)
Set up and calibrate UT equipment, accurately documenting /recording resultsInspect product to customer specification under supervision of certified UT II, which includes accurately detecting discontinuities and recording inspection resultsVerify product meets customer specificationResponsible for all aspects of NDT related recordsMaintains confidentiality of records and informationMaintains inspection of tools and equipmentCommunicate major non-conformances effectivelyInterpret and analyze information, provide technical adviceDocument and record experience hoursInput data into computerized information systems used in quality applicationsTrain and supervise Ultrasonic Technician level Is (audit inspections, oversee calibration of equipment and weld inspections)Actively support all EHS and continuous improvement initiativesAssist with other projects as needed or assigned
