What's the role?

This position will have a variety of tasks within the department with minimal supervision. Must have intermediate optical knowledge. Cross training will be required within the lab and may include:

Here's what you'll do:


  • Maintaining appropriate production reports.

  • Understanding of lens coatings.

  • Understanding of optical equipment and troubleshooting.

  • Intermediate level lens inspection.

  • Knowledge of DVI operating system (or compatible).

  • Ability to consult with customers on various issues.

  • Purchasing / receiving of lenses and / or frames.

  • Invoicing and billing.

  • Tinting of lenses.

  • Produce drill mounts.

  • Package sorting and shipping.

  • Organizational skills.

  • Blocking, spot, taping and foco.

  • Performs routine and semi-routine production duties associated with various aspects of lens production paying close attention to quality, quantity and efficiency. Refer to the Job Matrix for further departmental specifics.

  • Qualifies and inspect product to ensure compliance with CZV specifications and standards.

  • Employ troubleshooting techniques to determine cause of instrument failure and implement repairs where necessary

  • Complies with all safety regulations as well as maintains a clean and safe work environment.

  • Maintain appropriate written and/or computer documentation.

  • Generally assigned certain tasks within a specified department but has knowledge to perform majority of the tasks within a specified department.

  • May receive cross training in other departments.

  • Maintains a clean working environment.

  • Follows safety standards and reports any safety concerns to leadership.

Do you qualify?


  • Full knowledge of at least one department and basic knowledge of the entire lab Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities

  • Ability to sustain lengthy periods of visual concentration and good hand/eye/foot coordination

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment

  • Ability to focus for long periods of time

  • Eye for attention to detail and symmetry

  • Solid dexterity and mechanical skills

  • Patience to fully see the task through is a must

  • Honest, dependable and be able to follow directions either written or verbal

  • Exceptional attendance record

  • Good verbal and written communication with ability to communicate with other associates in a clear, concise manner

  • Ability to read English and identify number recognition

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to use of personal protective equipment

  • Ability to sit, stand, twist and bend for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to follow safety guidelines with the ability to identify and understand safety items

  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work overtime when needed

  • Ability to work in a team setting or independently, as needed

  • Desire to learn

  • Professional demeanor with a positive attitude and approach to work

  • Intermediate optical knowledge
