General Schedule


Position typically works Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm in-office at UCO's main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma. There is not an option for remote work with this position.



Position Overview


Administers, and coordinates high-stakes testing offered through paper and pencil or Computer-Based Testing. Understands the role of secure assessment procedures in learning outcomes and academic program integrity. Coordinates, schedules, and administers national and state examinations. Provides reports for and about Testing Services. Demonstrate a warm and caring professional service-oriented attitude toward customers who are under stress. Trains and schedules Testing Center proctors.


This position is an intermediate-level position responsible for providing a variety of clerical/administrative support, or manual labor, tasks for an office or department. This position may have minor to moderate impact on operations of multiple work areas. Routinely answers questions and provides information and data requested by individuals within or outside of work area. The job consists of repetitive manual tasks that are covered by specific procedures or close supervision. Primarily responsible for applying organizational policies and procedures and/or determining appropriate processes to follow.



Job Duties



  • Supervises testing in a computer lab which involves knowledge of various types of computer/ internet-delivered exams as well as paper/pencil exams.

  • Administers tests under standardized conditions and supervises the testing room.

  • Troubleshoots simple connectivity failures and electronic scanning error messages.

  • Creates spreadsheets and enters data for record-keeping and documentation using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Access).

  • Routinely handles, controls, and secures sensitive documents having monetary values in excess of $100,000.

  • Effectively communicates and works with the members of the public and university community.

  • Prepares correspondence, reports, letters, memorandums, schedule appointments, and related material using word processing systems.

  • Greets, screens and directs students and visitors in an office where the volume of public contact is high.

  • Answers multi-line telephone, provides information to inquiries, takes messages, or directs calls.

  • Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies, equipment requests, and testing materials as directed.

  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail and other related testing shipments.

  • Trains student employees.

  • Proctors high-stakes examinations.

  • Assists the Coordinator with preparing and organizing materials for national test dates.

  • Assists the Coordinator in maintaining an accurate inventory of test materials.

  • Adheres to accepted test security and ethics standards. Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications/Experience Required


General education or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Qualifications/Experience Preferred


Experience in a testing environment and/or higher education setting.



Knowledge/Skills/Ability


Ability to supervise testing in a computer lab which involves knowledge of various types of computer/ internet-delivered exams as well as paper/pencil exams. Requires a considerable amount of comfort with computer technology, logic problem-solving ability, discretion, and independent judgment. Able to meet physical demands of position which include bending, lifting, reaching, and moving to and from various work environments with testing materials. Working Knowledge of database input, creating spreadsheets, record keeping, and documentation. Effective communications skills and ability to work well with the public and university community. Attention to detail.
