Job Responsibilities


Trident Technical College's Business Technology Division is seeking an Network Systems Management/Cybersecurity full-time instructor. This is a faculty position that works under limited supervision, reports to the department head and is primarily responsible for teaching courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating student performance and advising students. This position also supports the Trident Technical College's Google Cyber Clinic Grant project in both administrative and academic roles.


To meet the demands of course schedules, faculty must teach varying schedules, including nights and occasional weekends, at a variety of locations, utilizing technology in instruction and a variety of teaching methods. Candidates must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.

Google Cyber Clinic Grant Related Responsibilities:


  • Assist project lead with recruitment of students and clients for the cyber clinics

  • Assist the project lead with data collection and reporting for the cyber clinics grant

  • Assist the project lead with the purchasing of equipment, supplies and other budgetary decisions

  • Work with the college's marketing department to ensure visibility of the cyber clinic and its students in the local community

  • Teach the Cyber Clinics courses and assist with business community workshops

  • Perform site visits and security assessments (as needed) with cyber clinic students

  • Perform academic advisement for computer networking and cybersecurity students
  • Maintain a faculty teaching load of 80% during the academic yearMinimum and Additional Requirements

    This position requires a master's degree in computer Networking, Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related computer field or a bachelor's degree in computer Networking, Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Security and two (2) years of related work/teaching experience in information technology. Candidates with an associate degree in the information technology discipline, a bachelor's degree, and four (4) years of work/teaching experience related to industry experience in information technology will also be considered.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Technical certification is preferred for candidates possessing a bachelor's degree or an associate degree. Prior teaching experience is highly desirable. Successful candidate will be familiar with network defense, information assurance, computer hardware, desktop and network operating systems, and Cisco routing and switching. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. Previous experience as a project lead/principal investigator on a private or government-funded grant is a plus.
