Overview
Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew R. Tapper at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. The primary focus of the research team is to use optogenetic, calcium/neurotransmitter sensors, neuroimaging, molecular, and behavioral approaches to uncover the neurobiology underlying drug use disorders and how stress motivates behavior in mouse models.
ResponsibilitiesPost-docs will be expected to spearhead new projects and use multi-disciplinary approaches in an effort to identify novel circuits, neuronal populations, and mechanisms involved in addiction-associated behavior and how the brain responds and adapts to stressful stimuli (see https://profiles.umassmed.edu/display/129759 for the lab summary and list of publications).
QualificationsApplicants with backgrounds in modern neuroscience approaches (i.e. optogenetics, chemogenetics, fiber photometry, etc.), electrophysiology, and/or bioinformatics are encouraged to apply, although all candidates with a strong background in neuroscience will be considered. Please submit CV with names and e-mail addresses of three references to Dr. Tapper.
