Position Summary:
The athletic training position is comprised of two components. The first component is serving as the athletic trainer for the Tulsa Oilers Hockey Club to develop, coordinate, and administer a comprehensive sports medicine.
The second component is supporting the OSU's athletic trainer for Oiler's Football. Additionally, helping provide game coverage for Junior Oilers Hockey as required.
Responsibilities:
Tulsa Oilers Athletic Trainer - 60%
-Develop overall sports medicine program for the team, including: injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs, and counseling for players.
-Provide athletic training services for the team including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions.
-Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals to determine their ability to practice and compete.
-Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, and conditioning programs customized to meet individual needs.
-Develop and implement the sports medical program budget.
-Liaison between patients and physicians
-Record keeping and documentation.
Clinical Athletic Trainer - 40%
-Liaison between patient, medical assistant, physician, or office staff.
-Responsible for data collection and data entry
-Responsible to provide home exercise protocols for patients per the doctor's request.
-Responsible for patient brace/crutch/DME fitting and product education.
-Responsible for following all HIPPA and OSHA regulations and guidelines.
-Responsible for other duties as assigned by the physician.
Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.
-Bachelor's degree
-Two (2) years of professional experience as an Athletic Trainer or equivalent role
-Must be certified by National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification and possess or be in the process of acquiring state licensure
