Job Description:

The Environmental Studies Program at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure-stream assistant professor position in the environmental sciences. Our interdisciplinary program is vibrant, growing, and has strengths in policy-centered and solutions-focused research, conducted in collaboration with our students and the regional community. We welcome applications from environmental scientists whose research incorporates a socioecological systems framework, traditional ecological knowledge, knowledge co-production, or similar innovative cross-disciplinary approaches to address topics such as agriculture and food systems, biodiversity management, sustainable resource use and management, ecosystem services, ecotoxicology, mitigation of and resilience to climate change, among others.

Environmental Studies students take courses in environmental ethics, environmental justice, environmental policy analysis, and community-based research methods. The successful applicant will contribute to a new environmental studies curriculum featuring a team-taught environmental science course with a lab, and a capstone community-based environmental research course. Additional opportunities will be available to develop upper-division electives related to the candidate's expertise, and to develop or lead off-campus study programs. The successful candidate will fulfill the expectation that al Colgate faculty participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.

Salary Range or Pay Grade

$92,300 (for ABD candidates) to $96,300 (for candidates with PhD in hand
