Job Description:




SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking a full-time Associate Executive Director for the Schenectady College and Career Outreach Center (SCCOC). Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director will assist the Executive Director in the development, coordination, and implementation of a quality program of educational, career, and training readiness services and support for SCCOC participants. Duties include outreach, recruitment, and the development of college and career enrichment programs, as well as administrative tasks. The Associate Executive Director of SCCOC is an administrative staff (unrepresented), full-time, (12-month) position subject to annual appropriation of longstanding funds by New York State. The Associate Executive Director supervises the Participant Service Specialists.





RESPONSIBILITIES




The Associate Executive Director of SCCOC assumes responsibility for the following:





  • Assisting the Executive Director in evaluating all SCCOC operations and services;

  • Assisting with strategic planning for the center;

  • Creating reports and analyzing data;

  • Assisting the Executive Director with writing SCCOC's operational plan, final report and other seminal documents that contain long-range plans, programming details, performance goals, and projected outcomes for the center;

  • Serving as acting Executive Director for SCCOC in the absence of the Executive Director, and representing SCCOC at community meetings, events, and activities as appropriate;

  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate SCCOC's Participant Service Specialists;

  • Leading the planning, development, and execution of an annual calendar of SCCOC events and programs (i.e., career and community agency fairs, enrichment programs, etc.);

  • Contributing to the Center's marketing efforts;

  • Performing case management tasks for participants, including the participant admission process, needs assessment, skill development, referral to supportive services, and follow up on participants' progress and make all related BANNER entries;

  • Developing and maintaining formal and informal partnerships with community agencies and employers for the purposes of community awareness, participant recruitment and service delivery;

  • Serve on various SUNY UCAWD statewide committees, as well as SUNY Schenectady committees;

  • Provide support to the SCCOC Testing Center.






Requirements:




Minimum Qualifications:





  • Bachelor's degree and

  • At least three to five years of administrative, higher education, or human service experience

  • At least one year in a supervisor role

  • Strong and engaging communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills;

  • Strong writing skills;

  • Ability to meet converging deadlines and employ strong time management skills;

  • Exhibit servant leadership;

  • Must be a motivated self-starter who takes initiative, and is able to think critically and strategically;

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with all colleagues; and

  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn new things, while remaining abreast of current trends pertaining to college and career readiness, and development for underrepresented populations.







Preferred Qualifications:






  • Experience providing case management
    Experience working with individuals that are economically and educationally disadvantaged is strongly preferred.

Salary: $65,000
