Job Description:




The College is seeking a full-time Director for our CSTEP (Collegiate Science, Technology Entry Program) grant. The goal of this grant is to increase the successful completion of science and technology degree programs by those students who are currently underrepresented in those fields. Our grant will work with approximately 60 underrepresented groups and low-income students matriculated in Math, Science, Technology, Health, and licensed professions.




Reporting to the Dean of the Math, Science, Technology and Health Division, the Director for the CSTEP grant provides fiscal and program management, guides, supervises, evaluates and directs, prepares compliance, performance and accountability reports, advises CSTEP participants and advocates for the CSTEP Program on campus and in the community. This is a 12-month, grant funded position.




RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • Develop and administer program budget

  • Provide fiscal and programmatic management for CSTEP Grant

  • Proficient in understanding of CSTEP legislation and regulation

  • Prepare project compliance, performance and evaluation reports

  • Remain current on relevant literature related to student development research and effective interventions for retention and graduation of historically underrepresented and academically underprepared students in higher education

  • Coordinate and promote project activities and services with other campus departments and community agencies

  • Recruit, enroll and counsel participants

  • Advocate for needs of disadvantaged students within the institution

  • Serve on campus and community committees and work to foster a supportive climate

  • Other duties related to those that are listed above






Requirements:





Minimum Qualifications:





  • Bachelor's Degree in any science, technology field, licensed profession, or science education

  • Experience working with students from historically underrepresented or economically disadvantaged groups

  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills

Salary: $51,000/year
