Job Description:




SUNY Schenectady County Community College is currently seeking a part-time Educational Aide for the School of Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism. Reporting to the Dean, the Educational Aide is responsible for overseeing work study students, interns and is responsible for classroom set up/food cart set up and receiving store deliveries.The incumbent does have supervisory responsibility over student workers and work study students.




RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • Supervise student-workers, work-study students, and volunteers.

  • Supervise workers in the filling of lab requisitions.

  • Supervise, receive and store deliveries.

  • Supervise, clean, and maintain the sanitation in food labs/related areas.

  • Prepare food labs prior to class.

  • Check and initial student-worker and work-study time sheets.

  • Act as liaison between instructors and technical staff.

  • Check cooler/freezer temperatures in the morning, at noon, and end of the workday.

  • Job duties as assigned.






Requirements:





Minimum Qualifications:





  • Associate's degree, preferably in hospitality

  • One year experience in hospitality

  • Supervisory experience





Special Information:





  • We are looking to hire multiple candidates for this position.

  • This is a 10-month position from September to June with option to work summer session.

  • Hours are flexible: Monday-Saturday, four hours per day up to a total of 19.5 hours per week

  • VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Offers of employment will be conditional based on the successful completion of a background check and verification of official college transcripts.
