Evaluation Research Assistant--PT (Grant Funded)


Position Summary:

The Office of Research, Innovation, and Collaboration (ORIC) is seeking a Evaluation Research Assistant to join the Evaluation, Monitoring, and Data Unit. The Evaluation Research Assistant is a part-time position that will contribute expertise in developing research methodologies, crafting evaluation plans, and analyzing data to drive impactful projects.


The position reports directly to the Internal Evaluation and Program Monitoring Manager and requires collaborative work with various stakeholders to assess the impact of college or AUC-wide initiatives and programs across a wide range of academic disciplines, including Arts, Humanities, Natural Sciences & Mathematics, and Social Sciences & Education. This will include contributing to the design and management of programmatic evaluation frameworks, managing data collection tools, analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, and communicating key findings and translating them into actionable insights to drive continuous improvement in programs.



NOTE: This is a multi-year, part-time grant-funded position.



Will work a schedule of 20 hours per week.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities :


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


  • Assist with providing professional guidance and general direction to program managers, project directors, and principal investigators (PIs), who coordinates the collection of data on various activities to evaluate the effectiveness of programs.

  • Create evaluation reports that will be used to inform, enhance, and strengthen programs using different methods of dissemination, which may include, but not limited to infographics, analytic dashboards, written documentation. The annual and final reports include baseline data, trend analysis, and descriptive statistics.

  • Assist in designing specific data collection instruments to evaluate programs such as pre/post-tests surveys, assessments, interview guides, and focus group protocols, and other related evaluation needs.

  • Collaborate with external evaluators/firms on evaluation activities, including data-driven decisions, and examine the protocols used to monitor programmatic activities.

  • Work closely with the evaluation team to collaborate and coordinate data collection strategies with the AUC-GRANTED Steering Committee (and other members of the AUC community) to evaluate the impact of the AUC-GRANTED Project.

  • Provide guidance and assistance to faculty and staff on protocols and applications for approval from the College's Institutional Review Board.

  • Assist with the development of training workshops, webinars, particularly for academic communities of learners, inclusive of those seeking evaluation ideas related to the goals and objectives of individualized programs and initiatives.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities and online educational workshops related to position and job responsibilities.





RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adequate experience using quantitative and qualitative research techniques.

  • Detail-oriented with editing and proofreading skills. · Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.).

  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; attention to detail is required.

  • Experience with using and translating data to communicate program successes and impact.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple ongoing projects.

  • Ensure that precise and high-quality data, data security, and confidentiality are maintained.

  • Demonstrated cultural competency and understanding of the value of diversity in the workplace, with an ability to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, traditions, customs, and personalities.

  • Any other duties as assigned to execute projects to fidelity.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required in Public Health, Evaluation or Education related field, including training in research methods and program evaluation.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Program evaluation and research skills using qualitative & quantitative data, including data analysis and presentation using data visualization.

  • Proficiency in at least one statistical analysis program (e.g., Stata, SPSS, NVIVO, Power BI, and others).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk, hear, walk, use hands to operate computer and other office equipment. This position is frequently required to: stand, and reach with arms and hands. The employee is occasionally required to: stoop or kneel, and lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
