Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Pathology; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab studying the cellular, immunological and molecular mechanisms of oral carcinogenesis, cancer chemoprevention and treatment; independently designs new analytical approaches and tools; performs experiments; independently develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; collects data and participates in writing grant proposals; participates in writing manuscripts for publication; trains staff in techniques; collaborates and seeks expertise from other labs; attends and presents research at scientific conferences, workshops and seminars; supervise graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory; performs additional duties as assigned. The candidate is expected to have strong organizational, and record keeping skills to record experiment results and analyze data, as well as effective written communication skills to publish results.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in cancer immunology, cellular/molecular biology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; We are looking for highly motivated individuals with proven experience in scientific writing, as well as various molecular, cell biology, and immunologic techniques; Strong bioinformatics experience is highly desired.
