Job Title:Clinical Laboratory ManagerDepartment:University Hospital | Tissue Typing



Scope of Position
: The individual is responsible in collaboration with the director for laboratory compliance, conducting performance evaluations, quality assurance, development and maintenance of clinical protocols and testing and budget development and monitoring. The lab is open first shift during hospital hours but has an on call team for 24hr/7day a week service. The lab provides services to University Hospitals, University Hospital reference labs, The James Cancer Hospital, and Nationwide Children's Hospital Transplant programs.





Position Summary:
The lab Manager will report directly to the Laboratory Director. This position is responsible for the overall management, administrative, operational, educational, and regulatory operations within the Histocompatibility Laboratory. This individual directs technologist staff and works closely with the Director of the histocompatibility laboratory and attending physicians in both solid and bone marrow transplantation in the workings of all technical processes that involve the histocompatibility lab. This individual is responsible for personnel management, ensuring customer service, implementation and monitoring of testing, staff training and evaluation and budget management.





Minimum Qualifications



For Hire:



  • Must hold a bachelors degree in a biology or biological related science.

  • Must be CHS certified by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics

  • Must have had at least 5-year experience in a histocompatibility lab

  • Must have 1-3 years Supervisory/management experience.




Ongoing:



  • Must maintain accreditation of CHS certification

  • Must maintain all internal accreditations as needed
