Job Description: We are seeking a Clinical Research Assistant in the College of Nursing to contribute to clinical research studies led by the Gillespie Laboratory, with a primary focus on maternal-infant research. Clinical research conducted by our laboratory includes observational studies, which collect information to better understand how to prevent, detect, and address disease; and clinical trials, which test new interventions to promote health and/or address disease. The Clinical Research Assistant will contribute through individual efforts and by participation on functional and project teams. The Clinical Research Assistant will perform work of a technical, operational, and administrative nature within clearly established guidelines and procedures. The Clinical Research Assistant will receive guidance overall and may be the primary owner on a specific program or process. The Clinical Research Assistant will review and contribute to the improvement of the day-to-day work of other team members, including students engaged with the laboratory.

Additional Information:


Responsibilities: The Clinical Research Assistant will support the following within the laboratory: (1) provide technical review of materials and processes needed to plan, launch, maintain, and close out our clinical research studies; (2) recruit, enroll, and randomize research participants for active clinical research studies; (3) conduct study visits and collect data from research participants, including through the administration of questionnaires, completion of interviews, completion of data collection forms, and measurement of objective indices of health such as height, weight, and temperature; (4) collect, label, transport, process, and assay biological specimens as needed; (5) enter, clean, and organize data using tools such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap); and (6) monitor, organize, maintain, and order supplies for various laboratory needs.




Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences or medical field, or equivalent combination of education experience required. 0 years of relevant experience required.




Desired Qualifications: 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
