Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Director of Access Strategies, the assistant director leads specific programming and activities that promote access to an Ohio State education. implementation of programs and communications to promote access to Ohio State for prospective students. Leads the implementation of on-campus and off-campus programming and events and cultivates relationships to facilitate the development of enrollment pipelines for students to The Ohio State University. Assist in the management of the travel grant program. Manages, and coordinates targeted high school student cohort programs and efforts in Undergraduate Admissions for both recruitment and yield. Oversees the evaluation and assessment of the success of these recruitment efforts. Ensures timely and accurate administration, management, and communication of events, programs, initiatives, and efforts to promote access. Supports group tours and early outreach efforts. Assists in the planning and implementation of learning and development training for Undergraduate Admissions staff.
Supervises and develops approximately 10-12 Student Engagement Leader student staff. Provides oversight and direction for training of student staff to provide comprehensive knowledge about admissions, the campus and university. Updates training on a yearly basis. Establishes and coordinates schedules to meet staffing goals. Manages student hiring, staffing, schedule and budget. Employs a comprehensive performance management process including setting expectations through planning, coaching and performance review.
Reviews applications (domestic, international, transfer, special population) and makes admissions recommendations through our holistic application review process, adhering to deadlines and that fluctuates throughout the year. Uses the Empowering Market Analysis (EMA), CRM (Salesforce), student information system, and other technologies to inform and support work. Reviews, analyzes, and validates data to make recommendations for program enhancements through use of data tools. Maintains an understanding of admissions policies, procedures and student data related to AAS areas. Uses demonstrated knowledge and experience with databases to design and execute data queries using internal data management tools.
Represents the Associate Director and the AAS area in meetings and on internal and external committees. Participates as an active member of Undergraduate Admissions through membership on committees. Assists with events and programs. Completes special projects and other duties as assigned. Occasional travel and work nights and/or weekends.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 4 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
Demonstrated successful experience in student supervision. Strong program implementation and organizational skills. Proficiency in desktop applications.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in undergraduate admissions recruitment in access programs. Strong data analysis skills. Proficiency in CRM and other student information technologies.
Salary range for this position is $55,100 - $72,400. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, units' available budget, and the candidates' qualifications.
