This Post Doctorial position will report directly to Dr. Darren Drewry and support an ongoing research grant from NSF's Cyber-Physical Systems Program entitled: CPS: Frontier: Collaborative research: COALESCE: Context Aware Learning for Sustainable Cyber-agricultural systems. This researcher will develop and test simulation models of canopy-atmosphere interactions using both machine learning and biophysical simulation components.
The Post Doc is expected to independently conduct literature reviews, develop new code and modify existing code, design and run simulation experiments, conduct data analysis and analysis of simulation results, and write manuscripts on research outcomes.
This researcher will attend bi-weekly project meetings on zoom throughout the academic year and will travel as needed to collect field data in support of the research.
The Post Doc will also be responsible for writing papers for journal submission, participating in conferences and helping with student mentoring.
Additional Information:This is a one year position with the possibility of extension an additional term.
This position requires a Ph.D. in a technical field (engineering, science) and a demonstrated ability to work with complex datasets and computer models.
