Project responsibility for supporting applications in fluid testing. A Fluid Technician will define and carry out appropriate experiments, interpret results and present the data to appropriate Lab Manager. Structured thinking and substantiation of results as well as having worked with volatiles is key to this position. Document and communicate research and development information with all appropriate associates, and supervisors.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order)
Plan and complete assigned research and development projects relating to Weatherford chemicals
Conduct Stimulation analyses and methods development
Design, collect, analyse and report results of analyses
Summarize key technical data for presentation
Interface with multidisciplinary scientists and engineers to solve technical problems
Suggest and implement improvements to the company's laboratory operations and instrument development
Comply with Product development process
Organize and maintain database of laboratory data and reports. I
Document and communicate opportunities, ideas, results, and issues in a timely manner for internal and external customers
Perform laboratory work as required
Test products as needed for specific applications
Conduct bench and pilot-scale (laboratory) chemical reactions on production chemical additives
Maintain product information, raw material specifications, and physical properties. Ensure conformance with all HSE procedures
Maintain lab equipment as required for safe and accurate use
Communicate advances and results to internal customers and business units as appropriate
Work with Lab Manager to prioritize projects
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
Experience & Education
REQUIRED
Highschool diploma with 5 years of relevant experience in drilling fluids
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Personal computer skills
Must possess satisfactory laboratory techniques, and the ability to interact with others.
Computer skills including Microsoft office applications
Knowledge of chemical processes
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Preferred:
Bachelor's in chemistry or Equivalent with 2+ years' experience in the laboratory testing
Detailed knowledge of Relevant industry standards relating to drilling fluids and/or stimulation materials and testing.
Travel Requirement: This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to: < 10%
