Purpose:

The incumbent will work in the Quality department and be responsible for administration of training programs, analyzing and solving problems, prepare inspection plans and instructions, prepare procedures, perform audits, analyze quality cost, and apply fundamental statistical methods for process control. This position has critical compliance responsibilities, internal and external, in assuring FAA guidelines are met.

Training instructor both in-house and at customers facilities (travel required) .

Responsibilities Include:


  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives / projects using tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, 5-Whys, mistake proofing, root cause analysis, and other Quality tools applicable to the repair station processes and procedures.
  • Administer first article inspection request, collects data, and generate reports to meet requirements of Customers.
  • Assist Quality Engineer in measuring warranty return and defective rates and generate reports to Management.
  • Periodic travel to customers facilities to set-up bearing analyzers and provide training on operating the equipment and meeting customer's contractual requirements.
  • Provide bearing inspection training and certification to customers both in house and at the customers facilities
  • Develop and update core job related certification training, maintain records and schedule, and administer on the job training as applicable to various audiences.
  • Work independently and in support of operations functions in development of schedules for training newly hired, transferred, and/or promoted associates for training on specific job duties of their new assignment.
  • Initiate training related to all aspects of job and task duties for "onboarding" - schedules operational/quality/safety training
  • Utilizing adult learning process knowledge, procedure manuals, machine manuals, conduct training on how to perform the duties of the job
  • Quality Management Systems: Basic understanding of the standards, implementation, and certification process of Quality Management Systems such as ISO-9001 and AS/EN9100 (preferred), or any other industry-specific standard or regulation.
  • Basic understanding of the requirements of customer-specific Quality System certification programs. Support the organization in audit preparation and corrective action in accordance to Regulatory, Customer, and 3rd Party audit requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team to ensure quality standards are in effect. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with regulatory and customer requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
  • Analyze and make recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or inspection, repair, overhaul issues. Enhance processes for managing risk in the repair station and to ensure timely RCCA for product escapes and warranty claims from customers and suppliers.

Qualification/Skills:


  • Associate level degree or in lieu of degree t en years' experience in maintenance, repair and overhaul
  • Ability to read & interpret technical documents
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals
  • Experience performing internal & external audits
  • Ability to analyze & interpret customer and/or regulatory requirements
  • Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 requirements
  • Experience with FAA & Airlines
  • Skilled instructor at providing classroom and hands on shop training
  • Mechanical assembly and electronic calibration and test skills

Salary Range: $67K - $87K annual
