The IT Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for supporting IT Disaster Recovery (IT DR) strategies for National IT infrastructure services. As an IT DR Analyst you will be responsible for developing operational IT recovery scripts based on input from technical support areas, developers and business owners.  Additionally, you will be responsible for managing and leading planning activities leading up to business resumption and contingency certification tests which includes providing test day support for specific/assigned lines of business. The IT DR Analyst will be responsible for providing consultation in the development of IT recovery strategies for new platforms, drive automation of recovery steps as well as ensuring existing processes are continuously improved to achieve IT recovery efficiency.  Finally, the IT DR Analyst provides support with infrastructure recovery during an actual contingency event/incident.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Managing and/or leading planning activities and test day support for planned IT business resumption and contingency certification testing.

  • Assist with IT recovery automation development

  • Developing and maintaining operational IT recovery scripts with input from technical SMEs in support of infrastructure recovery.

  • Support recovery and recovery automation activities with application migration to Colo / Cloud environments

  • Collaborating with technical SMEs, business customers and management regarding all aspects of IT recovery and testing.

  • Facilitating recovery strategy and support development for new or existing infrastructure applications.

  • Ensuring IT recovery readiness for areas of responsibility, at all times.

  • Providing IT DR support during an actual incident or crisis.

  • Maintaining recovery tools/automation to ensure production readiness.

Position Requirements:


  • Strong interpersonal skills to include effectively communicating, coordinating and disseminating detailed information to support IT DR /resiliency across multiple teams and various levels of management and staff within the organization.  Ability to influence and adjust communications to specific audiences from individual contributor through senior executives.  Excellent attention to detail is a must.

  • Desire to lead small teams on special projects to drive team objectives and initiatives.

  • Strong written communication skills to include developing post-test summaries, customer communications, and process documentation.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills; demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, data, and technical details with desired business outcomes, and produce sound analysis and recommendations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in IT Disaster Recovery and Contingency Planning.  General knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and automation technologies.

  • Responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making, and contributing to his or her function’s risk management.      

  • Makes decisions within established or widely accepted standards.  Achieves assigned/planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, training, business principles, and practical experience.

  • Requires some degree of sitting (for prolonged periods of time), standing, lifting carrying, pushing, pulling less than 20 lbs.

  • The position will require occasional extended hours weekend work, and occasional travel including overnight stays.

Preferred Technical Skills and Experience:


  • Moderate technical understanding of the General Services/IaaS/PaaS and Critical Services Tier infrastructure and components.

  • Technical Project Management

  • Experience in developing business recovery and/or operational procedures, supporting IT recovery testing, and maintaining production-ready operational plans.

  • Experience in business continuity practices.

  • Experience in leading small to medium projects.

  • Knowledge of resilience models, managed solutions, and cloud technology.

  • The hiring range for the Analyst - IT - Experienced (3-5+ years' experience) is $73,000 - $100,430 annually. The hiring range for the Analyst - IT - Senior (5-10+ years' experience) is $88,000 - $121,000 annually.

  • Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.

  • For candidates outside Richmond, VA and Dallas, TX listed salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.
