Summary

The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board's Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for undergraduate and graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board's internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes.The People Strategy & Operations (PSO) Workforce Analytics team analyzes workforce data to uncover trends and anomalies that help leaders make data-driven decisions and inform future initiatives and strategy. They are seeking an intern to help with project management, planning, communications, data analysis, testing and research.

Projects include:


  • Assisting with testing and quality assurance work related to data, data repositories, integrations, etc.
  • Making recommendations for data visualization
  • Assisting with developing tools and reports
  • Leverage data sets and graphical representations of data
  • Writing and editing knowledge articles (i.e. online help) and other documentation in support of the Workforce Analytics team and its customers
  • Exploring/researching artificial intelligence trends in workforce analytics and other human capital management areas
  • Helping to organize, plan, track and report out on project statuses

The selected intern will be available to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during breaks.

Ideal majors/minors for this role include data analytics, data science, economics, statistics, finance, HR Analytics, information science, and business analytics.

Applicants should submit analytics samples like a dashboard, reporting or personal project.

Interviewees should be able to walk the interview panel through a project where they have used data to solve a problem.

US Citizenship is required for all Board internships.

This position is hybrid requiring a combination of telework and in-office presence in Washington DC.
