ITS, LLC is seeking a Journeyman Software Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. The Software Engineer will support Leidos Inc engineering team. The Software Engineer will be working with a traditional DoD software engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides Software Engineering support for all phases of C5ISR solutions for applicable collection platforms (airborne, spaceborne, land-based, maritime/submarine).
Engages in research, development, design, integration, testing, evaluation, and deployment/delivery of software solutions.
Develops Software Engineer solutions for collection platform systems, subsystems, and components, addressing performance and platform Size, Weight, and Power (SWAP) needs for hosting and employing C5ISR Primary Mission Equipment (PME) and Mission Equipment Payload (MEP).
Implements solutions associated with collection sensors, apertures, processors, and other onboard mission equipment, as well as downstream processing and correlation of these collections.
Uses Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles and performs Product Lifecycle Management.
Utilizes an Agile DevSecOps engineering pipeline to accelerate mission-tailored, scalable, and threat (CEMA) resilient C5ISR systems.
Ensures end-to-end quality through the EngineeringEdge process.
Builds flexibility, scalability, and rapid insertion capability into solutions through a maximally open architecture approach to hardware and software development.
Collaborates with other engineering and science experts as a member of an MBSE team to apply Software Engineering principles to all components and processes that constitute collection platforms, associated PME/MEP, and processing, exploitation, and dissemination of data.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building microservices and/or refactoring monolith applications into microservices.
Experience with DevSecOps practices and principles.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
At least 5 years’ professional experience in software development.
At least 5 years' experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
At least 3 years' experience with Agile development methodologies.
At least 3 years' hands-on experience with Jira for project and issue tracking.
At least 2 years’ experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Familiarity using Git for version control.
Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles.
Familiarity with code analysis tools such as SonarQube or similar.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience preparing IT technical documents.
