What You Can Expect:


As a Construction/Road Intern with Pike Industries, you'll gain hands-on experience in various facets of our operations. Over the summer, you'll rotate through different areas of construction, learning from experienced professionals. This role offers valuable exposure to the industry, helping you develop skills in paving installation, project management, and quality control. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with crews on real-world projects and play a role in the successful completion of these projects.

What You Will Do:


- Paving Installation: Work with paving crews to understand the entire asphalt installation process, from project layout to completion. You'll assess safety hazards, estimate project costs, and understand customer service principles.

- Construction Operations: Collaborate with construction teams to learn how projects are planned and executed. You'll work closely with subcontractors, manage equipment, and participate in safety measures. Additionally, you'll gain insight into the billing and payment processes, as well as project bidding.

- Support Tasks: Assist with manual labor, hand tools, directing traffic at construction sites, and potentially operate equipment.



Requirements:


- Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a college degree program.

- Able to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments, both independently and in a team setting.

- Willingness to travel and work extended hours, including nights or weekends.

- Valid driver's license.
