Overview:


ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Business Systems Analyst 2 position will provide business systems architecture support to the assigned organization and facilitate the optimization of transmission planning and execution of capital programs. This Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will provide general administrative support and assistance for productivity applications such as Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Power BI that serve the organization; as well as provide recommendations regarding the most effective use of the applications with other business systems. This position will support transformational initiatives as well as desk-level improvement initiatives, and day-to-day operational and maintenance work within the business unit. This full-time position is located in Vancouver, WA.



Pay range: $40.24 - $57.49

Responsibilities:

  • SharePoint and Microsoft Project Duties:
  • Assist the Transmission (T) business line as Microsoft Project and SharePoint specialist. Serve as a point of contact and technical resource for Transmission's Microsoft Project and the SharePoint applications. This work may include working with internal and external clients (e.g., vendor representatives, IT, etc.); providing user help and troubleshooting; providing technical input and recommendations to clients and IT support; suggesting best practices for users; etc.
  • Support users working with the Project Web Application (PWA) and troubleshoot Project Professional and SharePoint issues before escalation to IT.
  • Interface with IT on Project and SharePoint Server related issues; escalate unresolved user problems as needed.
  • Assist with enforcing security by managing users and user groups for the applications, per established processes and criteria. Refer to team lead or manager with any questions.
  • Create user categories and access permissions in applications, per established processes and criteria.
  • Create custom views in SharePoint, Project, and other applications.
  • Create scripts and macros in applications as needed to help with business requirements.
  • Work with report writers for data connections and data structure.
  • Support and work with Business Analysts to help build customized templates in applications.
  • Support management of Project and SharePoint sites, which may entail assisting with the administration of Project Web Applications and Project Sites in all environments involved in the Software Life Cycle (SLC), including Development, Testing, and Production.
  • Create and manage workflows in SharePoint Designer.
  • Solutions Development and Proposal:
  • Design and recommend solutions based on requirements and best practices.
  • Research and develop methods to automate repetitive manual data manipulations.
  • Define solutions that integrate the various Portfolio, Project, geographic information system (GIS) and Asset Management systems.
  • Complete documentation in support of the solution, including use cases, requirements, test plans, process maps, and desk procedures.
  • Assist in the development of Business Cases/Justifications for the identified improvement opportunities and present the proposed solutions in both verbal and written formats to stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Prepare functional and technical documentation for hand-off workgroups.
  • Work closely with project development teams to facilitate smooth operation.
  • Create documentation for users and maintenance manuals.
  • Design, build, and implement company-approved desktop solutions to support portfolio and project management, project scheduling, and project financial analysis.
  • Create custom user interfaces for web-based applications.
  • Design and build electronic forms to support business processes.
  • Mark documents and maintain filing system(s), files, emails, and records in accordance with compliance requirements. Share and disperse documents only to appropriate personnel (those with a Lawful Government Purpose (LGP) to know). Mark and maintain all official records in accordance with the Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Governance & Lifecycle Management (IGLM) standards and procedures. Validate official records are accurately maintained for auditing purposes.
  • Implementation and Change Management:
  • Support development and implementation of change management plans by working across organizations to reduce employee resistance and empower management as change sponsors.
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and assist with various system verification activities such as systems and user testing.
  • Develop and deliver process and systems training to impacted employees.
  • Assist with system and data integration efforts to connect disparate systems that have various levels of SLC maturity.
  • Solution Maintenance:
  • Provide first line technical support to business users of the developed solutions.
  • Complete and improve user manuals, onboarding, and training documentation.
  • Analyze solutions and business practices for efficiency and effectiveness. Based on the analyses, recommend improvement initiatives.
  • Help communicate the project schedule and budget objectives to illustrate status.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business systems, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience is required with a bachelor's degree in applicable fields.
  • 7 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
  • 9 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
  • Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of business systems analysis, project management, and/or business analysis, and progressively more technical in nature.
  • 3 years of advanced or Expert level knowledge/experience in SharePoint, SharePoint Designer, Nintex Forms and Workflows, or Microsoft Project and Project Web Application.
  • 1 year of advanced knowledge of and practical experience in Power BI.
  • 1 year of experience in automating with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
  • 1 year of experience working with Microsoft O365 applications.
  • 1 year of experience working with Windows 11 desktop systems.
  • Familiarity with Data Modeling and Design.
  • Familiarity with Data Management and Reporting tools
  • SQL
  • SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)
  • Experience in Azure Dev Ops (ADO)
  • Experience in Lean and Six Sigma process analysis
  • Familiarity with energy/utility industry
  • Expert proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, charting, and reporting.
