The Immunology and Inflammation Research Therapeutic Area in Sanofi is seeking highly motivated scientist in the fields of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The scientist will have a solid understanding of inflammatory pathways and pathophysiology of autoimmune diseases. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in immune regulation, help drive breakthroughs in mechanism of action studies, work closely with project team to execute experiments to validate immunomodulatory targets for various I & I prioritized indications. The candidate will work in a matrixed environment and collaborate extensively with multidisciplinary platform groups to advance the portfolio projects.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for applying scientific expertise and championing novel projects, design and conduct preclinical studies to validate the target and to support the project transitions in timely fashion.


  • S/he should be able to work with a high degree of flexibility and under limited supervision, managing time efficiently to enable contribution to multiple projects simultaneously.


  • This position requires significant hands-on laboratory benchwork and has no direct reports.


  • Collaborate with Immunology and Inflammation Bioinformatics Team to identify and validate therapeutic targets.


  • Uses a high level of scientific judgement to adapt and/or create standard methods and techniques by applying breadth of knowledge and prior work experience.


  • Troubleshoot both technical and scientific problems and analyze and interpret experimental data and suggest next steps.


  • Provide and promote support for operational excellence according to Sanofi values and ethics.


  • Prepare publications & research documentation in accordance with Sanofi quality standards.





About you




Basic Qualifications:



  • Ph.D. in immunology or related field with at least 1 year of post-doctoral laboratory experience OR Master's degree plus >3+ years laboratory experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting.


  • Working knowledge of multi-panel flow cytometry and FACS-based immunophenotyping (experience with BD, Cytek flow cytometers, software).


  • Significant experience isolating primary mouse and/or human immune cell subsets for subsequent modification and characterization in complex immunological assays.


  • Strong knowledge of immune receptor signal transduction and its implication in immune modulation (expertise in western blotting, immunoprecipitation) is a plus.


  • Expertise in various in vitro immunological assays and in vivo inflammatory models is required.


  • Outstanding track record of scientific publications, presentations, patents, projects as a leading contributor or senior author.


  • Flexibility to adopt to a rapidly to changing priorities and deadlines and ability to lead others through change in a dynamic, fast paced industry and work environment.


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: impactful oral and written communication.
