The Opportunity


  • In partnership with Business Partner - External Partnerships, manage a portfolio of key external community partnership relationships as assigned, serving as the main point of contact for engagement activities.
  • Drive opportunities to collaborate with external organizations and community partners to amplify social impact efforts and drive transformative change.
  • Evaluate potential partners based on their commitment to social impact relating to but not limited to DEI, health equity, outreach, and healthcare justice and their ability to contribute to meaningful engagement.
  • Manage disaster services program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures with established metrics.
  • Provide functional expertise to senior leadership to provide disaster service delivery programs within a defined geography.
  • Evaluate and report on the capacity and effectiveness of programs and services we are providing to the communities and prepare recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, train, and engage a volunteer workforce to support local communities by providing services to include but not limited to response to recurrent local natural disasters and public emergencies (floods, fires, tornados, hurricanes, etc.).
  • Develop, guide, lead, and support teams of trained volunteers, as well as implement and develop initiatives to increase Vituity visibility through program/service delivery of disaster preparedness, response.
  • Identify and develop volunteer leaders who can act in facilitative leader roles across the disaster cycle, coordinate internally and partner to align with government and non-profit agencies, and work to enable the entire community to participate in all phases of the disaster cycle by providing direct services.
  • Collaborate with Vituity Cares Foundation to mobilize a volunteer workforce in support of disaster events across the country where medical personnel are needed.
  • Act as Vituity program subject matter expert on disaster relief and recovery to staff, management, volunteers, and external partners.
  • In partnership with the Business Partner - Community Engagement, develop, coordinate, implement and assess daily and long-term operation and sustainability of Vituity's Volunteer Portal.
  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of relationships with local, regional, and national organizations and groups to expand and coordinate Vituity's Volunteer Resources Program.
  • In partnership with Marketing and Business Partner - Community Engagement, create marketing/publicity opportunities to promote Volunteer Portal; and the generation and submittal of program reports and updates to CISR senior leadership and Executive Council.
  • Consistent promotion of new and existing volunteer opportunities to volunteers through email, social media, and other channels.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of the volunteer portal platform, ensuring it is user-friendly, secure, and efficient.
  • Research outreach about volunteer opportunities to public, nonprofit, private sector, and community-based organizations as it relates to healthcare, the overall CISR Strategy, and Vituity Infinite Strategic Plan.
  • Serve as primary contact for those interested in volunteering, answer questions from the public about volunteer opportunities, as requested.
  • Managing and analyzing data collected through the platform, including volunteer profiles, organization needs, and engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with People Operations and Business Partner - Community Engagement to track volunteer activities, hours, needs, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology and Business Partner - Community Engagement to build, maintain, and grow Vituity's Volunteer Portal.
  • Train new and existing volunteers to ensure compliance with Vituity's values and volunteer expectations.
  • Attend outreach events as a Vituity representative, as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Communications team and VP, CISR, support in drafting responses to and initiate outreach activities in the community which gives Vituity a public face.
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings and conferences; stay abreast of new national, regional, and local legislation related to healthcare, CISR, and/or DEI and communicate findings to CISR senior leadership, Executive Council, and Marketing senior leadership.
  • In partnership with VP, CISR, Business Partner - Community Engagement, and Marketing Communications team, create community focused outreach campaigns to promote Vituity and Vituity Cares Foundation outreach initiatives both nationally, regionally, and locally.
  • Create a strong sense of connection and develop lasting relationships with members of the communities we serve.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and innovative workforce and economic development outreach plan targeting private, corporate, educational, and other community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external community stakeholders to cultivate new partnerships and support existing partnerships. Present workforce and economic development outreach goals aligned with Vituity's priorities.
  • Forecast, measure, and report the results of various projects with community partners.
  • Under the direction of the Manager of CISR Strategic Initiatives design, plan, and lead development of Forward Together Programs (including but not limited to the Volunteer Portal, Social Impact Grant, Disaster Relief/Preparedness and Workforce and Economic Development).
  • Operationalize and scale on-the-ground events utilizing community partnership contacts.
  • Determine scope, benefits, risks, and success factors in implementing the program.
  • In partnership with Manager, CISR Strategic Initiatives, manage program/project timelines and budget.
  • Run effective team/committee meetings with purposeful agendas, clear communication, and action items.
  • Develop community partnerships with organizations that support efforts to bridge the gaps of access and opportunity in healthcare.
  • Develop detailed event plans including timelines, budgets, and logistics.
  • Cultivate relationships with Providers and SME experts to support volunteer and community events.
  • Lead efforts with outreach, sourcing, marketing, and promotional campaigns to attract a diverse candidate pool.
  • Key contact for organizations and institutions interested in establishing community event partnerships.
  • Content creation and delivery of presentations (Interview skills, financial wealth building, etc.).
  • Use data to establish metrics, track, monitor, and support leads from underrepresented backgrounds; collect and compile data on diversity recruitment initiatives to measure ROI and program success.
  • Communicate program reach and impact to stakeholders (CISR Executive Council, VP of Community Impact and Social Responsibility).
  • Streamline and improve processes and outreach components to enhance reach and quality of programs.
  • Modify community programs based on organizational initiatives.
  • Evaluate and analyze data and feedback of the community programs to improve offerings.

Required Experience and Competencies


  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1+ years of experience in community outreach and/or volunteer management required.
  • 1+ years of program management, project management, or related experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience of recruiting and planning community networking events preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of program development and project management concepts preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience managing diverse stakeholders including government policymakers, community leaders, non-profits, environmental groups, educators and school administrators, education partners and students in rural, suburban, and urban environments preferred.
  • Educational degree relevant to communications in community relations/outreach, public administration or public relations preferred.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills for formal presentations.
  • Outstanding listening skills with an open mind, but a decisive intuition.
  • Ability to demonstrate respect for individual differences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook).
  • Ability to establish close collaboration and cooperation with peers, direct manager, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to drive and influence decisions related to the outreach initiatives.
  • High energy personality, with a "can-do" spirit that is seen as approachable at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to leverage data to influence decision making.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to diversity, equity, and inclusion and nondiscrimination including but not limited to Title VII, ADEA, and ADA.
  • Knowledge of outreach program development and evaluation.
  • Strong cultural competency and regular practice of cultural humility.

We are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $79,600 - $99,500, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual corporate Success Sharing bonus program, which is based on the company's annual performance. If you are hired at Vituity, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
