Summary:

The Operations Manager directs all hauling operations efforts to enable the achievement of profitability and budgetary targets.

Your Role:

• Manages the day-to-day operations of hauling business and provides daily support to managers in ensuring quality and budget performance; works with the General Manager to ensure the success of the division.

• Monitors budget and operating metrics while diagnosing and improving processes, procedures, and performance.

• Ensures maximum productivity and route management systems for commercial, roll off and residential routes.

• Responsible for the adherence to operating standards, the development/execution of labor hours and disposal expenses.

• Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.

• Ensures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following-up with consistent discipline and retraining.

• Oversees employee hiring and performance management including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance; provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

• Participates in regular P&L reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.

• Interacts with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts and negotiate new contracts; establishes TT Waste Services as a good corporate citizen and valued resource.

• Ensures compliance with company procedures for all equipment and maintenance.

• Works with Human Resources to resolve employee issues.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-4 years' waste management/hauling business experience.

• High school diploma or G.E.D.; Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Previous experience in the waste services industry.

• Successful experience growing profitability and meeting budgetary targets.

• Demonstrated ability to build strong teams; selecting the best candidate(s) for hire, coaching and developing employees; collaborative and high communication management style.

• Process-oriented and results-oriented in setting and pursuing aggressive goals, demonstrating a strong commitment to organizational success and utilizing resources to accomplish goals and objectives.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking and decision-making skills.

• Experience with Microsoft Office tools, i.e. Word, Excel, and others.

• Five years' supervisory experience, preferably in waste, logistics or transportation.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

• Successfully completion of pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check, which will include previous employment check and criminal history.

• Exposure to residential, industrial and commercial waste.
• Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions and loud noises
• Occasional lift / carry 50 pounds 1-2 feet.
• Frequently lift / carry up to 50 pounds.
• Sitting, climbing, overhead reaching, balancing, kneeling, and crawling.
• Frequent standing, walking, stair climbing, stooping, and firm grasping.
