Rework Coordinator (Claxton Plant)

Earn up to $25.78 per hour in 24 months

Evening Flex Shift: Monday- Friday, 3pm-11pm

Pay Scale:


  • Starting wage: $20.09

  • 24 month top out wage: $24.78

  • Night differential: additional $1.00

Testing Required:

Candidate must successfully pass the Wonderlic/Wonscore tests, Intermediate Word test and Basic Excel test. Word and Excel tests will be taken at the plant prior to an interview.

Position Purpose: 

This will be a flex position with scheduled hours of 3PM-11P. Ability to flex before and after shift based on demand. Due to changing needs/volume of available rework/sorts partners shift may change.

Direct and coordinates rework and sort processing activities by performing the duties listed below. Together with the leadership team, ensures Peeling/Sorting goals are being met each shift. Send out daily production output. Performs duties as required by plant leadership to ensure efficient & effective operation of the rework department. Ensures that rework partners follow Food Safety and Partner Safety guidelines. Other duties as assigned by TL/TA. Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position. Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting TA/TL.  Be able to identify and understand customer requirements and assist in assuring proper operation and product.  Record accurate data on production reports.

Essential Functions:

Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and good housekeeping guidelines.  Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and meet OSHA safety requirements.

Train leaders and partners in defined rework processes and operations.

Plan rework & sort operations, establish priorities, and monitor progress to meet plant and customer needs. Resolve rework inventory issues between plants and DCs. Perform rework & sort operations as needed.

Inspect and identify quality outages in AST, Casting, Shred, and rework from other plants. Differentiate between good and bad product thoroughly while leading nonconforming product investigation.

Communicate any issues to leaders.

Must establish solid relationships with plant schedulers, Formulations, and partners to prioritize rework, sort, and baader needs as well as coordinate size and need of daily peel/sort crew.

Must be able to perform quality checks and identify nonconforming product (leakers, open ends, tear strips, etc.) Assist with product holds and communicate with QA for product release and disposition.

Proficiently utilize Invio, OPM, and Diver to accurately track rework and sort inventory, locate trailers and loads, and ship/receive loads to and from other plants and DCs. Must be able to communicate with leaders and partners from other plants and DCs as well as drivers and dispatch operators.

Coordinate partner activities to ensure we are maintaining salvage and trim inventories as well as utilizing FIFO in order to meet the needs of the department, plant, and customer requirements.

Ensure partner accountability and provide daily communication of essential information.

Must encourage teamwork and compliance with plant policies and procedures as well as set and manage peel crew start/end times and break schedules.

Must be able to bend over, squat, twist, and stoop during the performance of work duties.  Other duties as assigned.

Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as needed.

Organize and maintain all rework data for area of responsibility to ensure it is easily obtainable for research and improvement activities.

Must be forklift certified and show proficiency driving a forklift. Must be able to conduct forklift evaluations for other partners.

Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by TL/TA.

Non-Essential Functions:

Utilize Process Excellence tools to improve plant performance and complete specific projects as directed by Department Team Leaders.

Experience/Skills:

1 year or more of demonstrated leadership experience.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential and non-essential tasks related to the job. Successful Partners must follow and maintain PCP’s, Critical Control Points and Safety Procedures. Demonstrated leadership skills could be in work history or background. Behavioral history must be consistent with Schreiber’s definition of teamwork.


  • Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to generate inventory and cooler reports and identify items to be first used. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, partners and others.

  • Gain and maintain an understanding of all equipment and computer systems.

  • Willing to perform duties assigned, manage multiple priorities.

  • Must have general spreadsheet knowledge/application (Word Perfect, Excel, and E-mail Systems).

  • Will be required to go through an interview process with Leadership Team to clarify leadership experience.

Physical Demands

This position requires passing a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen.

Proficiency in reading and comprehension of the English language is required.
