Purpose:

Comtech Telecommunications is seeking a Program Finance Director, based out of Chandler, AZ.

The Director, Program Finance is expected to establish themselves as a business partner to the Program Management Director and PM team to steer programs to our targeted financial goals (e.g. revenue, profitability, cash flow, etc.) and provide financial leadership to the CSNTI Program Finance function. The Director, Program Finance will accomplish this by establishing processes to successfully manage the setup, execution and reporting of project financials, and be able to effectively communicate financial impacts to Senior Management. This role will support various government and commercial programs/projects across our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the Program Finance function including management of Finance personnel.
  • Establish and drive processes to proactively manage, forecast, and report on program financials and have the ability to communicate key financial impacts to management to drive sound business decision making.
  • Support long term, annual, and monthly forecast process through preparation of accurate product line bookings, sales and gross margin forecasts, at program level.
  • Responsible for the analysis of monthly product line financials with a focus on gross margin accuracy.
  • Responsible for and leading Finance team for completion of monthly/quarterly Estimates at Completion (EACs), revenue recognition and Program Management Reviews.
  • Provide financial briefings to Business and Finance Leadership teams.
  • Support customer / sales team inquiries such as program actuals, invoice backup or expenditures profiles.
  • Support and maintenance of various Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements.
  • Ensure financial compliance and cost controls across various US Government and commercial contracts.
  • This position requires working with program teams in direct support of Program Management. The candidate must be skilled in communicating, driving process, assessing risks / opportunities, and driving performance. Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and adapting quickly to changing requirements. Ability to develop/teach/learn processes quickly and apply effective analysis to complex situations.

Requirements:

  • BA in Finance or Accounting. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years of program accounting / finance experience with a focus on the preparation of estimates-to-complete (ETC) and estimate-at completion (EAC) and driving program performance.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial costing/pricing, reporting, revenue recognition, and invoicing requirements for multiple types of US Government / commercial contract vehicles (T&M, CPFF, CPAF, FFP).
  • Strong business acumen, understanding program execution and their financial performance implications, well-developed analytical and consulting skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal awareness. Ability to navigate strong personalities and opinions within multiple levels of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal skills including demonstrated ability to succinctly present complex information to management.
  • Must be flexible and willing to deal with a wide range of work assignments.
  • Ability to work through problems with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize concurrent requirements and accommodate numerous stakeholders.
  • Experience cross-training and supervising personnel.
  • Knowledge of key financial systems and tools.
  • Progressive Finance roles with strong analytical and partnering track record.
