Summary

Leads sales team globally for the CTS AMS business unit. Plans, directs and coordinates the effort of all marketing communication initiatives and sales personnel toward the accomplishment of the SBU objectives and growth plans by working collaboratively with the leadership team to realize the annual sales plan and profit goal for the SBU. Develops, coordinates, and leads sales strategies and objectives. Drives global efforts to execute product and pricing strategies, penetrate new and existing customers, and secure revenue growth. Guides communication between sales and other functional teams to establish common strategies, goals, and best practices. Collaborates with and influences product management, engineering, and others to drive growth. The position is global in nature and requires strong coordination with the teams in Europe and Asia, including regular travel to these regions.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for execution of the sales growth strategy and achievement of revenue and profit targets. Responsible for understanding and articulating global product category strategic vision.
  • Identify and recommend strategies to maintain and improve the organization’s competitive position. Develop and implement a customer relationship management (CRM) strategy for managing interactions with customers and sales prospects to organize, automate, and synchronize sales activities, marketing communications, customer service, and technical support.
  • Develop and establish effective region specific work teams for addressing local / regional market business issues and concerns on a global basis.
  • Develop annual sales plan for inclusion in the SBU business plan, along with a three to five year sales forecast. Recommend pricing policies including quantities & terms/conditions, and resolve individual pricing questions.
  • Create and implement a global sales strategy to expand sales and profitability in each major geographic region of the world. Activities include: Establish annual global sales plan that incorporates all input and data from major markets, Establish systems to insure forecasting predictability/ reliability, Develop policies, programs, initiatives and objectives for the organization’s sales activities and programs.
  • Actively involved in all aspects of key customer and distribution relationships; communicates important information to the staff and sales team as well as be the lead in handling customer issues.
  • Work with sales team to penetrate new customers and for seeing the sales channel is trained in CTS products and sales approaches. Makes changes to sales strategy based on customer information.
  • Develop strategic relationships at high levels within the key customers. Personally manage key accounts.
  • Attract, develop and retain talent to insure that people with the right skills and motivation to meet business needs are in the right place at the right time. Assess organizational capabilities and develop action plans to address gaps and weaknesses.
  • Develop goals, action plans and provide leadership to insure the achievement of sales revenue targets and profitability. Provide professional growth and development opportunities. Provide regular coaching, guidance and performance feedback.
  • Analyze and communicate global sales forecasts.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Significant experience in sales of advanced technology components. Experience with sales of ceramic components is an advantage.
  • International sales experience in Asia and Europe preferred.
  • Highly developed level of self-confidence and ownership enabling responsiveness and decisive action; demonstrated action-orientation with an ability to organize resources for getting things done quickly and effectively.
  • Proven record of international business growth. Ability to coordinate, manage, and align the multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to reach business objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as strong knowledge of international business customs. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences utilizing a variety of formats. Strong listening skills are essential.
  • Requires expert negotiating skills for both internal and external purposes.
  • Ability to build, develop and motivate both U.S. and international sales staff toward common business goals and strategies. Ability to inspire others to top performance. Strong team building skills.
  • Collaborative and effective leader with ability to motivate, inspire and influence.
  • High Integrity, self-starter, strong work ethic, and high level of energy.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical disciplines. Master’s degree in business with a focus in sales and marketing.
  • A minimum of 15 years related sales and marketing experience.
  • Proven track record in developing global sales strategies and leading a sales organization.
  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning, sales management, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/ advertising.
  • 5+ years of supervisory / management experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Domestic and international travel will be required on a regular basis (up to 50% of time).
  • Ability to work several hours at a computer.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
