GROUNDS KEEPER



JOB SUMMARY:


The Grounds Keeper is responsible for the general maintenance and appearance of the property surrounding the buildings at this facility.


DUTIES:


Pick up trash. Empty trash receptacles. Mow grass. Perform routine maintenance on mowers and other lawn equipment. Rake leaves. Trim hedges. Maintain shrubbery. Plant flowers. Trim trees. Parking lot snow removal. Sidewalk snow removal. Salt sidewalks when necessary.


Perform pre-operation equipment check on sweeper. Operate sweeper on parking lots. Perform general maintenance on sweeper. Report mechanical problems to Transportation Garage. Assist Maintenance personnel as needed. Move furniture in complex buildings as needed.


Drive to local parts distributors for parts pick-up as needed. Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Must be motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks. Must have current PA. driver's license. Mechanical background helpful. Must be able to communicate clearly via phone, in person, and in writing. Must be able to perform the essential job functions.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Able to tolerate exposure to various outdoor weather conditions. Able to wear required steel top boots. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. periodically. Must be physically fit for a variety of physically demanding tasks. Willing and able to use the Personal Protective Equipment.



12 months of continuous employment with a single employer within the last 36 months or completion and verifiable formal schooling in a specific trade.




Must have extensive fabrication and mechanical experience.




Welding, boiler, and electrical experience preferred.




Rehire Consideration:

• Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.


• 180 days (6 months) waiting period.
