Your Opportunity as an Engineering Supervisor



Supervise and train maintenance personnel in the upkeep of existing equipment and the installation of new equipment. Plan and direct engineering and maintenance activities for a work shift. Focus on meeting standards for quality, productivity, downtime, and cripples.



Location: Indianapolis, IN Manufacturing Plant



Work Arrangements: 100% on-site, Overnight Shift



In this Role You Will:



  • Enhance overall safety, quality, and productivity in the Bakery by providing technical expertise and guidance, implementing effective predictive and preventative PM programs, and building capability in all operations technicians


  • Drive high-performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions, and become self-reliant


  • Maximize equipment availability, minimize unplanned downtime, and extend equipment life through a sustainable PM program, and implementation of loss elimination projects


  • Expert level understanding of equipment in designated department; provide technical support to teams


  • Build mastery level skills in advanced technicians, advanced technical skills in equipment owners, and basic technical and trouble-shooting skills in all technicians


  • Ensure technical documentation, PMs, and spares for department equipment and systems are identified and in place


  • Responsible for development and improvement of maintenance procedures to facilitate the PM program


  • Coach teams and department leadership on effective PM planning


  • Develop and execute technical budget for department


  • Own a safety and/or quality system


  • Active participation in developing and executing advanced mechanical training and qualification programs; participate in assessments, ensure effective training, and maintain consistent qualification standards


  • Lead cross functional teams to deliver cost savings initiatives and departmental projects


  • Develop and maintain equipment standards and participate in design reviews for capital projects


  • Assist in coordinating Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification (CQV) activities for plant start up


  • Collaborate with Area Leaders, Process Engineers, and Coordinators in the development of work plans that maximize sanitation and startup effectiveness and efficiency

What We are Looking For:




Minimum Requirements:



  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but a technical degree and/or equivalent experience is required


  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required





Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:



  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing others in a manufacturing environment is preferred


  • Mechanical and electrical experience in food manufacturing is preferred


  • Ability to effectively engage, lead, and build capability on the floor


  • Ability to work and influence within a team environment


  • Strong analytical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills


  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and able to motivate others


  • Demonstrated results in manufacturing maintenance utilizing maintenance systems


  • Experience with plant systems software (Proficy, Project Management, Oracle eAM/SAP, etc.)


  • Proven project management skills include managing multiple priorities


  • Effective presentation, written, and verbal communication skills


  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications


  • Excellent interpersonal skills


  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that most effectively supports the organization


  • Ability to work off-shifts or weekends as needed


  • Open to managing operating teams as needed (as backup or future assignment)


  • Direct contractors and/or vendors
