DevOps Engineer
Hybrid AWS and Azure experience
Use Azure DevOps for CI/CD tooling, and AWS native products, such as CloudFormation.
.NET shop, our languages would include C#, JavaScript, MS SQL, Python, and YAML (among others)
Use many AWS services, EC2, MS SQL on EC2 or RDS, CloudFormation, S3, Lambda, VPC, ECS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Scaling, ECS, Control Tower, ELK, Elastic Load Balancing, CloudFront, Route 53, Data Migration Service, Availability Zones and Regions for DR, etc...
Other things: VMWARE, .NET framework, IIS, Docker, GitHub, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, understanding private networks and DNS,
Should be able to set up AWS infrastructure, migrate and sync data from on-prem, build/deploy our applications, set up high-availability, focus on low latency, enable DR between on-prem/AZ/Regions, and have good understanding of networking/DNS.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Lead the planning, design, and execution of the migration of the back-office environment from on-premises to AWS ec2 and Microsoft SQL.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the migration process, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations. Document all processes, configurations, and procedures related to the migration and ongoing cloud operations.
Monitor and optimize the performance, security, and reliability of the cloud infrastructure.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and continuous delivery of applications.
Implement and manage containerization using Docker to optimize application deployment and scalability in the cloud.
Ensure seamless integration and interoperability between AWS and existing Microsoft Azure services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and analyze current infrastructure, identify challenges, and develop effective migration strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and compliance standards in the cloud.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a cloud environment.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Strong knowledge of Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services and the ability to manage hybrid cloud environments.
Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, and other core AWS services.
Proven experience (7+ years) as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong focus on cloud migrations.
