Position Summary
The Business Architect will play a pivotal role in collaborating with Wintrust’s
IT Architecture community to analyze and review the current IT and network structure within the company. Your contributions will enrich the corporate architecture repository through the development of UML diagrams, Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) diagrams, and multi-layered architecture diagrams aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and best practices.
This role requires collaboration, influencing, and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Senior Business Architects, and others to help shape and define business and technical requirements, providing guidance and expertise to help develop and mature standard deliverables and artifacts for solution planning. You will also engage with key stakeholders to support strategic planning, document capability roadmaps, and understand our maturity levels related to those capabilities.
What You’ll Do
Define and document solution architecture and roadmap, including identification of technical and functional components, data flow, and security requirements.
Document UML, BPMN and Architecture diagrams in partnership with Enterprise Architecture team.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and provide recommendations for adoption of new technologies and tools.
Advocate and help drive adoption of “best practices” to ensure standardization of solution architecture outputs across the enterprise.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
3+ years in an architecture role
Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), architecture frameworks, design patterns, and programming concepts
Experience working in a structured project delivery methodology
Knowledge of cloud computing, virtualization, storage, and networking technologies
Experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale systems and applications
Experience in project management, including budget and timeline management
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
Certifications in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) are a plus
