SUMMARY



Bering Straits Professional Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Senior Technical Trainer - Training Resource Management with experience in management of training resources to support the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) security assistance program focused on building international peacekeeping capacity in Zambia.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Senior Technical Trainer shall be the Team Lead's principal trainer conducting various peacekeeping-related contract training requirements specified in the SOW.


Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.   • Minimum of ten (10) cumulative years of U.S. or NATO military experience.
  • Demonstrated management of training resources, training planning, and development experience at the tactical or operational level. [Demonstrated training management and development experience is defined as military service in an assignment where that person directly taught, assessed, developed, or managed the collective personnel management and/or institutional processes of the planning and execution of training a military unit(s) or organization(s).]
  • Attainment of military grade of E7-E9, CWO3-CWO5, or O4 and higher.
  • Experience as senior trainer, military or civilian, to a foreign security partner with directly related experience in capacity building and unit-level assessments.
  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building experience in the last 5 years.

  • This position requires the ability to maneuver around and see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and contractors. Visual acuity to review written documentation and ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.
  • Requires some physical exertion, such as walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces as well as time spent outdoors in extreme temperatures and variable weather conditions. Work can require prolonged standing indoors or outdoors, bending, reaching, and lifting.




DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS


  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT



Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • This position is self-managed and works at the direction of the government and is directly related to the business operation supporting the customer's objectives.




ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS



As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
