Department Information



The Office of School Partnerships was created out of the Charting the Future Initiative which works to systemically document how faculty, staff, and students are improving P-12 education. Our office works across the IU system to build meaningful, regional, mutually beneficial partnerships that advance P-12 student success and educator pipeline programs by leveraging resources and the collective expertise of everyone involved. Through collaboration with IU Schools of Education, Hoosier educators and policymakers, we strengthen P-12 education in Indiana by leveraging research, innovations, and university resources to support student learning and success, college and career readiness, and foster social and emotional well-being.



Job Summary



Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Manages group sponsorship for a registered apprenticeship for occupations such as the K-12 Teacher.

  • Supports IU campuses in the implementation of registered apprenticeships and their collaboration with school districts and employers.

  • Facilitates development and implementation of youth pre-apprenticeship programs that engage an IU campus.

  • Manages grant projects and assist with grant implementation and budget monitoring.

  • Supports development and implementation of programs and high school pathways that utilize various state funding streams.

  • Collaborates with OSP staff and colleagues across IU to develop and implement programs that engage P-12 schools and students.

  • Identifies future initiatives and support collaborative and search for funding sources and other assets.

General Responsibilities


  • Manages large projects of the most complex nature, from start to finish, ensuring on time completion within budget.

  • Analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls.

  • Communicates ongoing changes in tasks, goals, or performance; supervises and trains project staff as needed.

  • Develops and maintains project schedules, goals, and communication.

  • Matrix manages teams to develop, evaluate, and revise project processes.

  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames.

  • Participates in client meetings, contract finalization, and development of requirements and specifications.

  • Provides guidance and support to less experienced peers.

EDUCATION



Required



  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.


Preferred



  • Master's degree in relevant field.

WORK EXPERIENCE



Required



  • 5 years of relevant experience


Preferred



  • 7 years of relevant experience

  • P-12 setting that includes work-based learning and/or CTE/NLPS pathways

Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.



Work Location



This position is eligible for remote work, subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.


Some in person meetings required.



Advertised Salary



$76,000-$80,000 depending on education, skills, and relevant experience.
