The Warehouse Lead is responsible for managing, ordering, organizing and monitoring the receiving, storage, and distribution of all raw and packaging materials received from suppliers for the intent of conversion to finished goods, while enabling a smooth and consistent operation. This role insures the distribution of supplies as needed to meet and/or exceed internal and external customer requirements.Works with Production Scheduler, Inventory Coordinator, Shift Managers and or Production Leads on the day to day operation strategies and acts as team leader for the Receiving department.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 5+ years experience of increasing responsibility in inventory control and or materials management

  • Demonstrated knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehouse, and material handling operations, methods and practices.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial plant systems, equipment and operations

  • Basic computer skills

  • Team leadership skills

  • Certified in forklift operation

  • Knowledge of WMS system/JDA

Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high, and/or confined spaces and have full mobility to climb stairs and ladder

What will be your key responsibilities?


  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision and positive attitude.

  • Leads the workflow of the receiving team for inbound and outbound shipments of supplies

  • Assist the Shift Manager/Supervisor ensuring the effective functioning of the team.

  • Shift/Team liaison with other operating teams; i.e. Quality & Food Safety, Production Scheduling

  • Ensure that the Operators are participating in the various Operations teams.

  • Communicate with Production and Support Teams with accurate and timely information about shipping/receiving issues and updates

  • Work with Shift Manager/Supervisor to distribute Shift Team resources based on workload and absenteeism to ensure the completion of planned and unplanned work.

  • Monitor the quality of work done by the Shift Team to help drive accountability.

  • Complete all documentation and troubleshoot invoicing, packing slips, and receiver report issues as required.

  • Monitors the movement of material from Receiving to the Warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.

  • Coordinate and perform cycle count activities.

  • Work with Shift Manager/Supervisor to identify training needs for the team members and coordinate the delivery of the needed training.

  • Provide feedback to the Shift Supervisor regarding performance of the team members.

  • Work with Shift Manager/Supervisor to address associate relations issues and guide the training, development and motivation of the associates following self-managed, team-working principles.

  • Participate with the Shift Supervisor to implement improvement strategies to increase efficiencies.

  • Active participation in the Safety program as it applies to production area to include area audits and conformance to all area LOTO and safety procedures.

  • Demonstrate a food safety quality culture in actions, words and spirit.

  • Perform other duties assigned.

Total rewards at Mars includes base pay, competitive benefits, and annual bonus (if position is eligible). The full-time pay range for this role is:
USD 31.52 - USD 47.28
