Salary: Minimum: $75,225 Maximum $94,000



Job Location/ Arrangement: Anywhere in the U.S./ Remote


The Children's Services Department, which includes the Home Study and Post Release Services Program (HSPRS), is driven by a mission that promotes the safety and well-being of unaccompanied children as they reunify with their families across the United States. Purpose



The Sr. Grants and Development Manager shall lead the resource development from public and private sector donors for the Children's Services Department (CSD). The team member will lead proposal development, submission and donor management to contribute to the portfolio's strategic priorities to sustain and diversify funding. This position will interact regularly with the Program Leads, Technical Unit (TU) and Business Development Units (BDU) at CWS and external with donors



Responsibilities





  • In alignment with the Children's Services Department strategy, under the leadership of the Sr. Director and Program Leads, will lead development activities to sustain and diversify funding.

  • Leads the development and implementation of the department's business development plan and manages periodic portfolio performance reviews.

  • Prepares materials that elevate the department's impact such as the Annual Report.




Grant Management and Development



  • In collaboration with BDU, manages the full proposal submission process lifecycle for funding opportunities and modifications, applying industry standard practices and applying quality control measures.

  • Writes proposal sections, provides copy-edit on submissions and ensures overall proposal cohesion and quality.

  • Stewards Cooperative Agreements and other donor agreements through internal review process to ensure they are fully executed and returned to donor in timely manner.

  • Maintains and monitors funder reporting schedules and requirements, coordinating timely and quality submissions with relevant stakeholders.

  • Supports Program Leads with writing and review of high-quality quarterly and annual donor reports.

  • Provides templates and recommendations on best practices to highlight impact and progress towards programmatic outcomes and goals in donor reports.

  • Maintains a library of grant support documents (e.g., leases, resumes, IRS Forms and state non-profit registrations, Indirect Cost Rate Agreement.)

  • Maintains Electronic File system of all Grant and Proposal files.

  • Leads research and prospecting for new funding and business development opportunities in coordination with BDU and Program Leads.

  • Creates guidance and resources and facilitates training and other capacity building for department staff and partners on proposal development and reporting that are in alignment with BDU framework.




Relationship Building



  • Maintains positive relationship with ORR, ensuring proactive communication of both successes, challenges, and any compliance or performance issues, as agreed to by program leads.

  • Develops and maintains strategic corporate partnerships that result in Corporate Giving in the form of cash for program activities and in-kind donations.

  • Maintains and build relationships with other funders as assigned and as coordinated with Business Development Unit.

  • Leads process for entering teaming agreements, consortiums and sub-award relationships with partners.

  • Identifies and participates in donor and other networking meetings that will highlight CWS impact.

Qualifications



Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of professional work experience, including at least 5 years of demonstrated success in business development for large, complex non-profit organizations, with a particular focus on unaccompanied children, refugees, and displaced populations.

  • Demonstrated success with US Federal and private sector institutional donors.

  • Experience with the Office of Refugee Resettlement highly preferred.

  • Experience working with a diverse team operating under high pressure and tight deadlines, applying a demonstrated inclusive management approach.

Skills:

  • Highly effective project management skills for complex projects across teams.

  • Strong English communication skills, both written and oral. High capacity to influence and negotiate.

  • Ability to bring lightness to serious work preferred; calmness and empathy during crises is a must.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of ethical standards and discretion.

  • Ability to complete projects with limited instruction in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.

  • Advanced Skills in Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.



Education & Certifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.

  • Masters Degree preferred.
